Tiny Tudors at Wollaton Hall

KS1 – Local history study. Studying significant historical events

Since building Wollaton Hall, Sir Francis Willoughby has longed for a visit from Queen Elizabeth 1. Let’s make his dream come true as we prepare for the arrival of her Majesty.

In the fantastic Tudor kitchens we learn about food for royalty and create the Queen’s favourite sweetmeats. We learn how to present our courtesies to Sir Francis and the Queen and practise a special Tudor dance to entertain her Majesty. We discover what the lives of tudor children were like, how they dressed and the games they played. The children play with replica Tudor toys and games.

Finally the children are presented to Sir Francis Willoughby and Queen Elizabeth in the Great Hall where they present gifts and entertain them with a Tudor dance.
